About the Citizens Police Academy

The Citizens Police Academy offers insight into Officer Recruitment and Training, Criminal Investigation, S.W.A.T., Crime Scene Investigation, the K-9 Unit, Firearms Training, Vice and Narcotics and much, much more. More importantly, it offers a unique opportunity to connect with your police department.

Classes open a window into Galveston Police Department operations–what they do and why they do it. This is also a chance to become more involved in your community, network with others across the island, and ultimately come together in partnership with your police department officers to improve the security and well-being of neighborhoods and commercial areas alike.

Registration is now open for the 48th GPD Citizens Police Academy
