(GALVESTON, TX) October 19th, 2017 – As part of the City’s annual preventative maintenance that is performed on the sanitary sewer lines, the City will begin smoke tests in the areas below beginning Friday, October 20, 2017 and ending Friday, November 10, 2017.

  • Marina Blvd – El Lago / Stewart Road – FM 3005, Shores Drive, Sunset Cove, Sea Isle, Isla Del Sol & Terramar

Work will begin 8:00 a.m. and end 5:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting, and will not impact sanitary sewer service to these areas.

Each year the City performs these tests in different areas of the City to locate any possible leaks or breaches in the sanitary sewer lines. This process allows the City to address and fix the problem before a failure in the line occurs due to a leak or breach.

Residents who have leaks within the sewer lines in their homes could see smoke during these tests. While there is no cause for alarm, we do suggest calling a licensed plumber to address the issue.

If you have any questions please contact the Public Works Department at (409) 797-3630.
