City of Galveston’s Holiday Parade Set for Saturday, December 16th

Holiday Parade Map

GALVESTON, TX (November 16, 2017) – Join us for this annual tradition with a twist! This year's City of Galveston Holiday Parade will spread holiday spirit and Christmas cheer throughout the City's historic downtown. Sponsored by the Galveston Municipal Police Association, this annual event has become a time-honored tradition and is sure to spread holiday cheer island-wide!

The annual parade will change course this year as we head to the City’s historic downtown. Floats, golf carts, cyclists, and more will begin lining up along Santa Fe Place next to the Shearn Moody Plaza downtown. The parade will lead down 25th Street turning east on Postoffice. With a turn on 21st Street and another turn on Strand the parade will go through the heart of downtown. Traffic will be detoured in the area beginning at 6:00pm and will be reopened as the tail end of the parade passes each street for the second time. Line-up for the parade will begin at 5:00pm on Santa Fe Place.

Get Involved, Island Style

As in year’s past, the only entry fee to participate in the 2017 Holiday Parade will be at least one donated unwrapped toy for the Galveston Police Department’s Blue Santa program. The City welcomes all participants on this reduced route, to include pets dressed up in their holiday best. Decorate your golf carts, light up your bicycle, or make a float out of your boat. It’s easy and simple to sign up, simply visit www.galvestontx.gov/holidayparade and fill out the form.
