Two Galveston Police Officers Soon to Become Familiar Faces Downtown

Merchants and visitors in our historic downtown are becoming familiar with two of our very own Galveston Police Officers, Officer Clint Millo and Officer Patrick Brosch. In an effort to increase police services and presence in a very popular destination for our City, these officers have been assigned downtown seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The officers will focus their patrols on historic downtown and an officer will be present each day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Galveston Police Department will continue to make regular patrols throughout the area, even with the additional presence that will now be available to our residents, merchants, and visitors.

“With all of the activity downtown, providing additional police presence for our residents, merchants, and visitors is just one step we are making towards increasing public safety on the Island,” said City Manager Brian Maxwell. “With their focus being in one specific area, we know this will provide GPD an opportunity to build a safer community while building stronger relationships between the department and our community members.”

Officer Clint Millo has been with the Galveston Police Department since 2010 serving the community as a patrol officer. He also joined Galveston’s SWAT team in 2012. Millo comes from a long lineage of Galveston Police officers and was born here on the Island.

Officer Patrick Brosch joined the Galveston Police Department in 2015. He has served the community of Galveston since that time as a patrol officer.

Numerous personnel applied for the position, however, Officer Millo and Officer Brosch were hand selected by city leadership to fill the roles.

“We know that Officer Millo and Officer Brosch will exemplify community policing in these roles,” said Captain Joshua Schirard. “They will undoubtedly gain the trust of our local residents and merchants, while making our visitors feel welcome and safe during their trip to Galveston.”

Funding for these officers is being provided by the downtown parking revenue.
