Arrest made in aggravated robbery; more to come

Galveston,TX - Tuesday, January 8, 2019 - The Galveston Police Department is very aware of the spike in robberies in recent weeks. Although reported robberies decreased 9% in 2018 compared to 2017, we take each and every one of these incidents seriously. Your police department is taking proactive measures to deter, investigate and apprehend all criminals involved.

In addition to the two juveniles arrested in connection with the aggravated robbery on December 28th, in the early morning hours of January 8th, the Galveston Police Department executed an arrest warrant for aggravated robbery. Rodrick Harbin, Jr., (09/06/1996) was wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in December on Galveston’s East End. An additional person of interest is still wanted in connection with this case.

Investigators have several promising leads in other robberies that have been reported recently and feel they are closing the gap on these cases.

The Galveston Police Department is hoping that with the release of this arrest, anyone who may have been a witness or has any information concerning the identity of anyone involved in these robberies or any other crime, comes forward to help make our island a safer place. We strongly urge you to contact investigators with the Galveston Police Department at (409) 765-3778 or anonymously by contacting Galveston Crime Stoppers at (409) 763-8477 (TIPS). Galveston Crime Stoppers has agreed to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in these felony cases.
