Galveston, TX – Jan. 22, 2019 – The City of Galveston will host a meeting next week to educate residents, businesses and property owners about the 45th Street corridor project. The project is slated to begin in mid to late February.
The 45th Street reconstruction project includes the repaving of 45th Street between Broadway and Seawall. The project also will include extending a storm sewer drain, increasing the size of the underground water and sewer pipes, and adding decorative lighting and sidewalks.
“The 45th Street reconstruction project will improve one of the busy north-south corridors used frequently by residents,” City Manager Brian Maxwell said.
The meeting next week is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project and how it will affect people living in the area. City staff, as well as the engineer and contractor for the project, will be there to answer questions about the construction and engineering of the project, drainage along the street, and how residents and businesses will be affected by the road closure.
