Congratulations to Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Daniel Thomas! Texas Recreation and Park Society named Daniel “2018 Parks Professional of the Year” and “Star Performer in the East Region.” He was recognized Tuesday during a TRAPS workshop in Conroe.
Daniel started working for the City of Galveston more than 14 years ago. He joined the City as a laborer in the parks department. He was later promoted to equipment operator and crew leader, then to superintendent of parks and recently named an assistant director.
“Galvestonians are fortunate to have Daniel on the city’s parks administration team,” Executive Director of Community Outreach Barbara Sanderson said. “He’s dedicated to maintaining our parks, fields, recreation centers, esplanades and parkways, cemeteries, and public grounds – and he’s committed to making Galveston a wonderful place to live with many public amenities.”
TRAPS recognizes hard work and excellence in parks departments across the state. Thank you Daniel for your service to Galveston!
