45th Street construction beginning after Mardi Gras

The City pushed back its Notice to Proceed with the construction company working on the 45th Street project to start construction after Mardi Gras to accommodate concerns from residents and businesses.

The City will issue its Notice to Proceed on the project on Feb. 25, meaning the construction team will begin mobilizing on the project but not start construction until after Mardi Gras.

The 45th Street reconstruction project includes the repaving of 45th Street between Broadway and Seawall. The project also will include extending a storm sewer drain, increasing the size of the underground water and sewer pipes, and adding decorative lighting and sidewalks.
