  1. Galveston County Household Hazardous Waste Day

    April 8, 2017, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Gulf Greyhound Park 1000 FM 2004 Lamarque, TX 77658

    A household hazardous waste collection event is scheduled for April 8, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Gulf Greyhound Park (located at 1000 FM 2004, La Marque, TX 77568). Items accepted during the event include: fertilizers, pesticides, batteries, pool chemicals, paint related materials, thermometers, aerosol cans, household cleaners, automotive products, tires (six maximum), white goods (free of Freon), electronics, fluorescent bulbs, and paper for shredding. Unaccepted items: business/commercial waste, medical waste (pharmaceuticals, sharps/needles), radioactive waste, PCBs, dioxins, ammunition, explosives, compressed gas cylinders (small propane accepted), smoke detectors, and household trash.   2. Carnival For A Cause

    Carnival For A Cause is a fun new family-friendly event making its debut on Saturday, April 8th, hosted by the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County. This bazaar-type of set-up will take place at 1204 45th Street from 10:30 AM until 6:00 PM and features food, drinks, games and entertainment from local performers! Admission is free.   3. Wicked Wine Run

    April 8, 2017, 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ East Beach

    The Wicked Wine Run arrives on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 3:30pm at the East Beach Pavilion. This unique event features a 5K Run with celebratory wine at the finish and 1K Tasting Walk with 4 wine tasting stops along the beach, as well as food and live music! A small portion of Apffel Park Road between the Beach and an area connecting to East Beach Drive will be closed for the duration of the 5K and 1K and will immediately reopen following completion of the 5K. Residents of Beachtown will have access via East Beach Drive for the entire event. Visitors to East Beach will have access via Boddeker Drive.
