Parks and Recreation Department will have a membership pre-sale & registration on May 11, 2019, at McGuire-Dent Recreation Center from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The first 75 people that register will receive a FREE gym towel and lanyard! We will also have prizes for the first 200 people that register.

After May 11, all patrons entering either recreation center must be registered.

Any youth 17 and under must be registered by a guardian over the age of 18. McGuire-Dent and Wright Cuney are FREE of charge for youth (17 & under), resident seniors (65 or older), and all military.

2019 rates for residents:

  • Resident adult annual pass: $25
  • Resident adult daily: $10
  • Resident youth (17 & under) and senior (65 or older) annual pass: $0

2019 rates for non-residents:

  • Non-resident adult & senior annual pass: $60
  • Non-resident adult & senior daily: $10
  • Non-resident youth (17 & under) annual pass: $0

Required membership registration documents: 

  • Government issued ID.
  • If ID does not show current address you must bring ID and utility bill matching ID to receive resident rate.

Replacement Membership Card: $5

If you are an annual pass holder at Lasker Pool you will receive a $5 discount.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to create, promote and administer the best possible recreational programs and, in addition, to manage and maintain the best possible recreational facilities. To maintain to the best of our ability all parks and parkways designated to the department by the city. The Parks and Recreation Department accomplishes these objectives in a responsible manner, staying within the yearly budget. Department staff also actively seek out additional funding sources and opportunities to improve the department.

In addition to overseeing the city's parks, fields, recreation centers and tennis courts, department staff maintain the city's esplanades, parkways, cemeteries, and public building grounds.
