What do you do if there is a street light out in your neighborhood? Street light outages happen from time to time because of storms, sensor malfunctions or other issues.
CenterPoint Energy serves the island and has an easy way to report these outages. If a street light is out in your area, please visit http://gis.centerpointenergy.com/sloreporting/. This allows you to report the location and lets CenterPoint know where to send technicians to address the issue. If you need to report a street light and don’t have internet access, you may also call 713-207-2222 or 800-332-7143.
The City of Galveston does not manage or maintain power services, but we communicate with CenterPoint Energy regarding widespread outages or when there are other issues such as street light outages.
