With spring break approaching, we're reminding short-term rental owners to ensure all guests are aware of the existing rules and regulations and being courteous neighbors.
There are guest occupancy limits to each property and street parking is limited in many areas, so please check that guests are not exceeding these limits at booking or arrival.
Also, bear in mind rules regarding loud music in residential areas, which could lead to noise violations. These rules are spelled out in Section 24-2 of city code, but generally-speaking guests should not be playing music audible to neighbors.
Short-term rental owners may be held responsible for renters' failure to comply with the rules and regulations. The Galveston Police Department and City Marshal's Office will respond to complaints, however, as always, providing education before is preferable to ticketing later.
Thank you for your assistance in creating a safe and family-friendly neighborhood environment!
Should noise violations occur, please contact GPD at 409-765-3702.
