Galveston, TX, May 4, 2021 – The City of Galveston is accepting applications for five positions on the Galveston Park Board of Trustees.
The Park Board of Trustees' mission is to promote Galveston Island, its natural resources, attractions, and heritage; to attract visitors to Galveston Island; and to assure that Galveston's assets, for which the Board of Trustees is responsible, provide visitors and residents with exemplary experiences in an environment that is safe, clean, accessible, fun, and environmentally sensitive.
There are five positions on the Park Board expiring June 30, 2021. All trustees holding those positions are eligible to re-apply for another two-year term, however, incumbent trustees will need to re-apply and interview again, along with any new applicants.
Interested candidates should fill out the online application form at https://forms.galvestontx.gov/Forms/BoardApp. Candidates should submit their application by June 11, 2021. City Council will interview applicants on June 17, 2021 and make appointments during the meeting on June 24, 2021.
At this time, the City Council is only interviewing for the Park Board. Appointments to the majority of city boards, commissions, and committees will be considered by Council at the September 23rd meeting. Those terms expire on September 30, 2021. We will be publicizing deadlines as the date approaches.
