Golf cart inspection provider list

UPDATED! Remember, there are new rules for golf cart rental operators and owners passed to promote better safety on our roadways.

Under the new requirements, annual registration fees for golf carts will increase to $150 for commercial golf cart rental operators. The registration fee will remain $25 annually for residents.
The new regulations also require commercial operators to affix decals to the carts reminding renters to stay in the right lane and wear seat belts. There should also be information on the golf cart about where they are allowed in the city.

Residential and commercial golf carts will require registration, a license plate, seat belts, and inspections, per the ordinance. License plates are obtained from the Texas DMV for all-terrain vehicles. Golf carts operated exclusively in master planned communities are not required to obtain a license plate, per state law. All other golf carts will be required to have a license plate.
The City of Galveston has compiled a list of local places to have golf carts inspected.

While the new regulations go into effect immediately, there will be a grace period of approximately 45 days before enforcement begins to give people an opportunity to address their golf carts. We will provide an updated notice before enforcement begins.
