The City of Galveston is monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico that could develop into a tropical storm and bring potential coastal flooding in the coming days.
The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rainfall caused by Gulf Disturbance 94L beginning later Sunday and Monday. We also anticipate higher than normal tides, which could cause coastal flooding.
We recommend residents ensure all items that could float or blow into the drainage system and prepare for possible street flooding. We will continue to monitor this system and provide updates as necessary.
