Welcome to the waves of information for the week of February 26th!
With spring break around the corner, it is time for us to announce our trolley operation hours for the holiday!
As we prepare for an influx of visitors over throughout this month we are expanding our trolley hours to accommodate our Spring Breakers! From Thursday, March 8th to Monday, March 19th we will be operating our rubber wheel trolleys each day from 10am to 10pm. Trolley service will return to it's off-season hours that Tuesday, March 21st, which are Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday, Saturday and Sundays, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The Lasker Park Community Pool opens for their Spring swim hours this Saturday, March 3rd!
This Saturday, the Lasker Park lap pool and splash pad will open on Saturday's from 7am to 6pm and Sunday's from 11am to 4pm depending on water temperature. The lap pool will be open during the week on Tuesday's and Friday's: 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. They will also be offering fitness classes throughout the month, and we will make an announcement about swim lessons that will be offered in April! Speaking of the pool, we still need additional lifeguards and we need your help to spread the word!
With all that we have planned for this summer, we need help getting more people interested in joining our team at the pool. There will be tryouts held on March 4th and March 10th at the pool and our first lifeguard academy will be held over spring break! Last but not least, this Saturday, March 3rd, is UTMB's School of Health Professions Annual Causeway FunD Run!
This fun run/walk occurs from 7:45am to 10:15am primarily on the I-45 Causeway, using the southbound far right exit lane, and along the feeder road near Teichman Road and should have minimal impact on drivers. GPD and Traffic will be on hand to assist throughout the event. More information about this race can found online at http://www.causewayrun.com.
