[ARCHIVED] Waves of Information for the Week of April 23rd

Today is the first day of Early Voting and we want to encourage you to exercise your rights by voting in the May 5th election that will elect the leaders of YOUR community.

Early voting will be held this week from 8 to 5pm through Friday and 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday at four locations on the Island. Those locations include the Galveston County Justice Center, the Galveston County Courthouse, Moody Methodist Church, and Seaside Baptist Church. Remember, as a Galveston County resident, you can vote at any participating polling location in Galveston County. You can view all available locations and sample ballots at www.galvestonvotes.org. All positions on Galveston's City Council are up for election, however, only three of the races for District 3,5 and 6 are contested races. You can view the candidates, their campaign finance reports, and more information about what is required to early vote online at www.galvestontx.gov/castyourvote.

This week City Council will meet for workshop and a council meeting on Thursday April 26th.

City Council will begin their workshop in room 204 at City Hall at 9am on Thursday April 26th. They will begin the City Council meeting in Council Chambers at 1:15pm. Both meetings are open to the public and the agenda and packet for each can be found online at www.galvestontx.gov/agendas. You can watch the meetings live online at www.galvestontx.gov/gtv and on the City's Facebook page.
