For the next 6 months, turning lanes from Seawall to 45th Street will be closed

45thst turning lane closure

GALVESTON, TX – August 26, 2019 – Beginning Monday, August 26th, the turning lanes from Seawall Boulevard to 45th Street will be closed to traffic. The lanes are expected to re-open in early March.

Traffic will not be able to turn from Seawall Boulevard onto 45th Street, and should use detours along 41st Street or 53rd Street.

There will be signs posted at the Seawall intersections of 41st Street and 53rd Street providing notification that 45th Street access is closed.

The closure is part of the 45th Street reconstruction project. The 45th Street reconstruction project includes the repaving of 45th Street between Broadway and Seawall. The project also will include extending a storm sewer drain, increasing the size of the underground water and sewer pipes, and adding decorative lighting and sidewalks.
