To attract more tourists and make our roads safer and more accessible the city should create bike lanes. This would attract all sorts of people who enjoy the outdoors and would love our city. In addition, this enhancement would create a safe environment for residents to ride their bicycles, encourage green responsible living, promote healthy lifestyles. Take a look at what's going on in Austin and the inner loop of Houston! This is a relatively inexpensive project. The city could utilize this in marketing and offer maps of the designated bike lanes either with an app or physical map. Adding bike lanes connecting the Strand, East End Historical District and the Seawall would promote growth and economic stability for our local businesses while promoting accessibility across the island.

But sadly I must report that after visiting several times your city, the taxi companies do not give a quality service.
-you call and they don't answer
-no one takes credit cards
-the veichles are old and uncomfortable.
This is just my two cents for improvements.
Please dig into it, and you will realize what I wrote is true.
I believe your visitors deserves more options and better services.

Traffic signals need to be synchronized on Broadway, Harborside and Seawall similar to the signals on Ave O and P. The poorly timed lights backup traffic on all these main thoroughfares and causes vehicles to waste fuel and time. The lights at 37th and 77th at Harborside are terrible and should be changed to favor Harborside. These current traffic signals are use an antiquated timed system instead of using an actuated system.

Hey guys, as a lifelong resident of Galveston county, all i can say that that i love this place and all the people here. I love the state of Texas and the country i call my own. It disgusts me to see the race war that is unfolding in front of our eyes. Im here to suggest a weekend of family fun and activities on the beach aimed at bringing everyone of all race and color out to unite each other. To interact with each other. To make new lifelong friends. To see for ourselves with our own eyes that love and unity is possible if we come together and stand as a human race, not by skin color. Let us be the pioneers of a movement in America to prove that love and peace is possible. I know several bands, business owners and food truck operators that are more than willing to donate their time to prove Galveston is the best place with the best people in the world. Lets show some support for one another and start this revolution once and for all! Let's schedule a weekend for a great time!!

The city should work to ban smoking in all public areas and parks. It will clean our air and clean our city.

Visit Amoco Park in Texas City and Pundt Park in Spring - both have dog parks separated by dogs > 25 pounds and < 25 pounds. We recently moved to Fish Village and have an 18 pound dog. We tried to visit Fish Village dog park but I immediately turned around when we were met by a large pit bull. There were 5 other large dogs in the park. I'm sure they are nice dogs, but large and small dogs don't belong together. If you drive around Fish Village for any length of time, you will see small dogs being walked on the streets and the large dogs are in the dog park. Galveston is so progressive in so many ways (including many places and patios allow dogs) and it would be nice if the dog parks kept up with other communities. Hopefully we won't have to continue driving to the Texas City dog park, which, by the way, was recommended to us by a long-time Galvestonian.
