Galveston Island Shrimp Festival

The 12th Annual Galveston Island Shrimp Festival returns to historic Downtown Galveston from September 24th to September 25th for two full days of shrimp, music, friends and fun. Event activities include a Shrimp Gumbo Cook-Off, Gumbo Tasting, Free Outdoors Show, Official Shrimp Scampner 5k on the Seawall, Lil’ Shrimps Parade, Live Music, Vendors, Kids Area and a Strand Merchant Walk-About! Please anticipate the following road closures from 6:00 AM on September 24th to 9:00 PM on September 25th: Strand St (22nd to 24th) and 23rd Street (Harborside to Mechanic).
