Community News Posted on April 10, 2026

Swim season is almost here. The City of Galveston will open the Lasker Park Community Pool for its 2026 spring season on Saturday, April 18th.

Located at 2016 43rd Street near Ball High School, the facility features a recreational pool with kid-friendly play structures and a body slide, along with an eight-lane, short-course lap pool.

During the spring season, the lap pool will operate Tuesday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The pool is closed on Mondays.

The splash pool will open on Saturday, May 16th, with weekend hours from 12 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Expanded hours for both pools will begin May 30th as the facility transitions to its summer schedule.

“We’re excited to welcome residents and visitors back to Lasker Park Community Pool as we head into the spring and summer months,” said City Manager Brian Maxwell. “This facility is an important community asset that gives families a safe, fun place to stay active and cool off.”

The pool is open to residents and visitors.
