Come join us on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 6:00 PM to celebrate Independence Day! The Parade, sponsored by the Galveston Firefighters Children Parade, will begin at 76:00 PM on Seawall Blvd at 22nd Street and proceed west to 45th Street, with fireworks to follow at approximately 9:15 PM from 37th and Seawall. Seawall Blvd (19th to 53rd) is anticipated to be closed from approximately 4:00 PM until the parade completes (but it may close earlier if deemed necessary for public safety). Traffic on Seawall Blvd will be detoured westbound at 19th St and eastbound at 53rd St. The parade will line-up at 4:30 PM on Seawall (22nd to 21st) and 22nd Street (Seawall to Ave P)

Friendly Reminders:
- Fireworks: The Galveston Fire Department reminds the public that fireworks are NOT permitted within the City of Galveston’s city limits. A Class C misdemeanor, violators caught discharging or in possession of fireworks can face up to $2,000 in fines daily. The Galveston Fire Department is urging the public to take every precaution to ensure a safe, fun holiday. For more information about fire safety, please contact the Galveston Fire Marshal’s Office by calling (409) 797-3870.
- Traffic Including Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety: Be patient with traffic and follow all traffic laws. With numerous pedestrians and cyclists on the roads, please stay focused on the road. If you are a pedestrian or a cyclist, please be sure you are walking or riding in well-lit areas, ensuring that you are visible to drivers with bright clothing and lights, and stay on designated walkways and bicycle lanes. There will inevitably be delays leaving the Island. Please be patient and know that we have our entire team working to get you home quickly and safely.
Fireworks Note:
The City of Galveston is excited to sponsor this year’s fireworks show. This is the second year the City of Galveston has hosted the fireworks display and we’ve worked closely with the company to fine-tune the event.
The fireworks display will follow the parade, beginning at 9:15 p.m. from 37th Street and Seawall. The fireworks display will be broadcast online with accompanying music. To listen to the fireworks music, download the free app Pyrocast and enter code 8JUV to access Galveston’s show. Through this app, you will hear announcements about the start of the show and the accompanying music.
